A Rich History

Designed for portability and functionality, these pieces became essential for alpine adventures in the 19th century as explorers and mountaineers sought sturdy, yet lightweight and collapsible furniture for their expeditions.

Campaign furniture has a rich history, rooted in the needs of military officers during the 18th and 19th centuries. Made from durable materials like teak and brass, campaign furniture included folding chairs, tables, and chests, often ingeniously designed to pack flat for easy transport by porters or pack animals.

The blend of practicality and elegance in campaign furniture not only catered to the rigours of alpine exploration but also ensured a touch of comfort in the wilderness.
